Track System VT-STERO

The VT-STERO solution consists of pre-fabricated reinforced concrete beams containing the rail which is completely embedded in elastic material. The elastic profiles – jackets – are made from resin-bonded recycled rubber with a shape adapted to fit the rail. The system provides a continuous support without rail fasteners. During installation the VT-STERO beams are placed on concrete sleepers (5 pcs per rail beam of 18 m). These sleepers are first aligned in x-, y- and z-direction. The VT-STERO beams are installed on top of the sleepers, aligned with shim plates and welded. The welding areas are equipped with rubber jackets before concrete is poured in-situ.
